Hi there!
hear.say is a craft microbrewery with a taphouse, patio, biergarten, and food truck. Our patio and grassy biergarten are kid and dog friendly. We also teach and perform improv comedy in a separate enclosed theater space. Keep tabs on our regular events and frequent community partnerships here.
Our mission:
Crafting Community through Joy and Laughter
Improv and beer!? What do they have in common?
Improv brings people together to build community in the most fun way possible - PLAY. The best improv performances meld unique perspectives to discover something truly new and ephemeral, which only happens once.
Craft beer at its best is all about sharing and openness. Bridging gaps and exploring flavors. Sourcing the best ingredients from all over the world. Sharing ideas with the broader community and benefiting from new discoveries and innovation.
While you don’t have to care about both sides of the house to enjoy hear.say, here is the common thread: we are passionate about creating memorable experiences for everyone and crafting community. Come join us on our mission! See a show, grab a pint, and make yourself at home.
About our team:
Ben Schnurle joins the team as our Head Brewer and brings a wealth of experience from owning and running One Drop Brewing Company in Oxford, MI and brewing on a variety of systems up to 30 BBL. He is most passionate about German beer, full flavor low-ABV offerings, and hoppy pale ales and IPA.
Tony DeRosa is the owner of hear.say. He previously worked for a decade at Google / YouTube and holds an MBA from the University of Michigan. He’s stoked his new adventure is hyper-local. Tony’s goal on the beer side is to bring a taste of California to the midwest. He also regularly teaches and performs improv comedy.
Michael Baker is our Hospitality Lead after stints at HOMES Brewery, the A2 Civic Theatre, and Create My Tee. Michael and our bar team can’t wait to welcome you warmly at the bar!

Both! Our brewery taphouse is a separate area from the fully enclosed theater. We invite you to have a terrific drink and a bite to eat whenever we are open. No need to attend a show to enjoy the taphouse, biergarten, or front patio.

Dogs are welcome on the patio and in the biergarten. Kids are welcome anywhere with parental or guardian accompaniment. Our comedy shows are typically PG-13+, but those are under 18 are welcome with a parent or guardian.

Shoot us an email at hello@heardotsay.com. Look out for other opportunities for community-driven fun and auditions for comedy programming. Teaching is by invitation, but we are happy to connect with experienced improvisers new to the area.
